Music Is The Soundtrack Of Our Lives

Jake & Ewelina’s first dance…”I Cross My Heart”-George Strait

Each couple we work with has their own style, and nothing shows that more than their choice for the first dance.  Looking back over the last year, our couples music tastes have ranged from all time classics, to very unique songs that are important to them for numerous reasons.

By far, the most popular song over the last 15 months has been “Then” by Brad Paisley.  The song’s message that love grows over time, strikes a chord in many couples hearts.  Here are just a few of the songs that our couples have chosen to celebrate the start of their new life together…

It Takes Two To Tango

Recently, we had the privilege of working with Susan Quiring, of Susan’s Ballroom Dance at the Bridal Showcase presented by The Hilton Hotel of College Station.  Her expertise in Ballroom dance is incredible, and her ability to make her clients shine, is down right amazing.

Once in a while, our couples that we have the honor of working with, will choose to showcase their dancing skills.  One such couple was Sarah & Jason Brinker.  The one thing that really stood out about Sarah and Jason, was Sarah’s own proclamation, that dancing was truly NOT one of her fine points.  In fact, one of her bridesmaids years ago even went so far as to inform Sarah, that “you just can’t dance”.  :)

Well…that all changed after Sarah & Jason worked with Susan.  After a wonderful moment of sharing their relationship and how we got there that day with all of their guests, Sarah and Jason took the dance floor.  As they took their positions, their guests didn’t know what to think.  The music started, and being so out of the ordinary, their guests thought that it was a joke as a few giggled, but it only took that first spin to create that moment of WOW.  The looks on all of their faces were priceless as Sarah & Jason showcased a classic Tango for their first dance.  By the time they were done, they literally received a standing ovation.  Congratulations Sarah & Jason!  All the best as you dance your way into a wonderful future together.

Tip Top Shape

Our good friend and colleague, Mr. Mike Walter of Elite Entertainment, was given a clean bill of health on his annual physical. :)   Looks like all those marathons are paying off.

What A Wonderful World

It may be an all time classic as far as music goes, but that phrase describes Mindy & Jamie’s big day perfectly.  Despite Mother Nature not being so cooperative, Darlynne & Jim, along with everyone else at The Greenbranch, helped make the day incredible.

Mindy & Jamie are such a great couple with upbeat, positive, and fun personalities.  They weren’t about to let cold weather and twenty five mile per hour winds dampen their day.  They knew what it was all about…Love.  Regardless of weather, or anything else, they knew the most important thing about their day was each other.  We set the stage, and away we went, for the perfect celebration.  Congratulations Mindy and Jamie!

This Takes The Cake

Texas is one of a kind…and many don’t know that the Groom’s Cake, is all Texas.  If you attend a wedding outside of Texas, and their aren’t ties to Texas with the Groom, you will very seldom, if ever see a Groom’s Cake.  This tradition, is one thing that we always look forward to.  And, with great anticipation, we always look forward to see what Miss Sandee Moss of Cinderella Stories Cakes comes up with.  Her talent at making beautiful, excellent tasting cakes is incredible.

Seeing her bring each groom’s style to life is awesome.  We’ve seen everything from NASCAR cakes, Armadillos, Deer Blinds, a complete Fire Station, and so many more fantastic cakes.  Best yet, is when there’s one piece left over at the end of the night to take home, enjoy, and wind down from a great evening of celebration.  That doesn’t happen too often as her cakes are usually gone before you know it…and you know why when you see the guests.  They’re all smiles as they take that first bite. :)

The Groom’s Workshop

Livewire Productions will be hosting our Groom’s Workshop again soon.  The event will take place at the Hilton Hotel-College Station at 1:00pm, April 25th, 2010.

The workshop is specifically for the guys…sorry ladies :)   It is designed to enlighten and prepare grooms for their big day.  We’ll cover information they’ll need to know for the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and more.  So often, guys simply don’t know where they can help, nor what is expected of them.  This is where we come to their aid in filling them in on everything.  We’ve been a part of the wedding industry for over 24 years…and if you’re getting married, we’ll fill you in on the information you need to make your day, truly exceptional!

Not only is this a great resource of information for you, it also gives you a chance to chat with other groom’s going through the very same dilemas and challenges.  The event is free, and open to all grooms.  For more information on our Groom’s Workshop, visit www.TheGroomsWorkshop.com .

To top it off, we’ll be giving out some great prizes…including a full tux package for up to five from Al’s Formal Wear of College Station worth $750, and a Gift Certificate for $100 for a Groom’s Cake from Sandee Moss & Cinderella Stories Cakes.  Excellent information, great prizes, complimentary food and drinks, all make this an event you shouldn’t miss.

Please be sure to RSVP through the website, so we can save you a seat!

Bridal Show Fun

Twice a year, the Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley hosts a bridal show.  This years Spring show was unique in several ways.  First, being a director on the Board for the Bridal Association gave me a whole new perspective on how the show works and all of the hard work involved in putting it on.  Everyone on the board, and especially the show committee, should be commended on their work.  Secondly, the Spring show was moved to the Brazos Expo Center.  The show was a huge success with almost 700 in attendance.  The bridal show doesn’t only provide us the benefit if meeting future brides, but it’s also a great opportunity to chat with many of the brides we are already working with.  It’s also a great opportunity to catch up on life with so many of our good friends and fellow wedding vendors.  There are so many wonderful individuals in the wedding industry that have the same passion, and drive to make each and every brides day unforgettable.

A Dance Worth A Thousand Memories

With all of the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, it’s easy to forget about how this is a big step for Mom and Dad too. This is a defining moment as they let go, and you venture into your new future.  For so many years, Mom and Dad have been role models, mentors and much, much more.  Being able to share feelings and reflect back on so many memories brings everyone attending your reception into that special relationship you have with Mom or Dad.

These moments are what truly make your day unique and special as it was for Terri Bullard-Wilke & her Father Tim.  The custom recorded message from Terri’s father, was incredibly moving, and showed us once again that all the hard work and time we put into making that once in a lifetime day the best ever for our clients, was worth more than words can ever express.

Terri sent us a wonderful Thank You letter about her day, and this is what she had to say about her dance with Dad, “I never, in a million years, thought that the dance with my Dad could mean so much to me.  The way you put his speech into the music was absolutely incredible.  I remember looking up at my Mom during our dance and tears were just streaming down her face, along with everyone else in our family and all of my friends.  So many people complimented me on that dance and I would have to say, ‘Don’t compliment me, that was ALL my DJ and my Dad.’ That moment for me, the world stood still…all I heard was my Dad’s voice and the music, and it is one of the memories I will treasure forever.”
